Zelma Lee aka “DJ Supastar” is a DJ, influencer, philanthropist, and TV and radio personality. DJ Supastar lights up everything she touches! She has been spinning since 2001, always expanding her diverse pallet for music, with the ability to play ANY room, remaining in high demand and sustaining her success. In the long-standing tradition of female DJs, DJ Supastar is proving that talent is still the order of the day.
As an on-air personality, you can catch DJ Supastar Monday – Friday, spinning on Houston’s 93.7 The Beat (iHeartMedia) and for Emmy Award-Winning journalist Isiah Carey on The Isiah Factor Uncensored on FOX 26. Her podcast, “She’s Got the Juice,” celebrates dynamic and high performing changemakers for the culture, while her weekly on-air Sunday morning community show, “Face the Beat,” focuses on community issues, while also highlighting local leaders.
A local and celebrity favorite with an impactful social media presence, DJ Supastar also works weekly as a host/MC, DJ, and influencer with a number of clubs, private events, celebrity parties, and corporate partners. She continues to grace stages nationally for notable events that include the ESSENCE Festival, CIAA, Super Bowl, and the NBA All-Star Weekend. She has also graced the stage for BET’s Smirnoff’s “Master of the Mix” and was the very first female DJ to spin for the 2013 NBA ALL-STAR JAM SESSION Weekend hosted in Houston, TX.
Her fondest DJ experience was the opportunity to DJ for fellow Houston native, Beyoncé and Jay-Z for a private event in 2015 during the OTR I Tour. She loves her community, especially the youth, often spending time mentoring through her Supastar Spin Academy, which offers DJ classes for all individuals who are interested in learning the art of DJing. And she is a history maker as the only female DJ to do this in the United States!
Though DJ Supastar is a trailblazer in the entertainment industry, mentor, motivator, and curator, her most important honor and proudest achievement is being a mom.
