2021 community hero

Lynn Clouser started serving at an early age. She has spent most of her life in Missouri City where she now serves as the recently elected City Councilwoman At-Large, Position 2. The Mayor has appointed Lynn as Chair of the Livable Community Committee and she will also serve as a member of the Economic Development Committee, High Performance Organization Committee, and a member of the Community Development Advisory Board. Her emphasis on inclusion highlights the theme that everyone matters regardless of age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and ability, especially in the most diverse city in Fort Bend County.

Lynn was fortunate to grow up within a legacy of leadership, watching her father Judge Joel Clouser serve the Fort Bend community, and she often tagged along with him as he worked tirelessly for the community. It was an honor for her father to swear her in as the first African American female to hold the At-Large Position #2 on the city council. Lynn is fortunate to be a member of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce George Foundation Executive Non-Profit Leadership Class for the 2020-2021 year.

Lynn received her bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Arts from Hampton University and has been active in her community since she was young. With more than 25 years of sales and marketing experience, she was recently named the Clinical Liaison for Modern Vascular Houston, a pioneering medical company focusing on peripheral artery disease whose minimally invasive procedures focus on amputation prevention. Lynn is no stranger to challenges. As the mother of two children, her oldest was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at an early age. Lynn turned her pain into purpose and now helps other families understand the diagnoses, navigate the journey with valuable resources, and currently sits on the Board of Directors for Hope For Three Autism Advocates, a local 501 c (3) organization that serves children and families living with the disorder with financial assistance and various resources. In addition to being an autism advocate, Lynn also lends her time and talents to the community organizations she holds near and dear to her heart such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc., The Fort Bend Church’s Spectrum Ministry, Fort Bend Women’s Center, and Farmers Market Partners Sienna where she is currently an Advisory Board Member.

Lynn enjoys working out, volunteering, spending time with her children Marshall and Lauryn, event planning, public speaking, acting, and helping small businesses thrive with marketing strategies. She is extremely passionate about small businesses and is establishing the first-ever Small Business Advisory Committee in Missouri City to provide support with resources to help our local businesses sustain and grow.
