Cristina Johnson is the regional marketing manager for Cigna, South Texas and Louisiana. Cristina received her BA from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her MS in Marketing and Communication from Franklin University. She began her career in St. Louis, Missouri, with Enterprise Holdings, managing various marketing programs for multiple, international business lines (Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, Alamo Car Rental, etc.).

Prior to joining Cigna in October 2018, Cristina served as a Series 6 licensed channel marketing director at Nationwide (Columbus, Ohio), supporting the sales strategy targeting a broker house with over 60,000 advisors with life and annuity products. As part of the Cigna field marketing team, Cristina is currently leading marketing strategy in South Texas and Louisiana as the regional marketing manager for commercial business. In this role, Cristina manages relationships with various local partners, including the City of Houston and the Houston Texans, and works with sales leadership to execute on market goals. With 14 years of marketing experience, Cristina brings a strategic lens and innovation to support the initiatives in a challenging market, while supporting expansion efforts. Cristina is an imaginative and forward-thinking marketing manager and a spirited leader with proven success at leading broad marketing efforts, associate resource groups, and community-focused projects.

Cristina’s has a passion to help others both through Cigna and personally. She works as a liaison with the Cigna Foundation and civic affairs, creating and developing relationships and programs to strengthen the community and begin to eliminate disparities. Cristina has partnered with several municipal and community organizations on behalf of Cigna to develop programs that increase health and wellness in underserved communities (City of Houston, Boys and Girls Club, Big Brother Big Sister, Angels by Nature, etc.) She also serves as a Cigna Emerge Mentor and is dedicated to helping others strengthen their personal brands and grow in their careers.

One of her favorite quotes is from Mary Church Terrell, “And so, lifting as we climb, onward and upward we go, struggling and striving, and hoping that the buds and blossoms of our desires will burst into glorious fruition ere long.”
