Adrian Collins is a sports and entertainment executive who currently serves as the director of operations at Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation (NRG Park) in Houston, Texas. He is also the principal of Adrian K. Collins & Associates LLC, a business development firm that specializes in helping small, medium, and large-sized enterprises in the energy and technology sectors create sustainable growth through successful expansion into domestic and international markets.
Born in Grand Prairie, Texas, Collins endured a challenging childhood, later joining the United States Army in his late teens. In the Army, he received top security clearance to work for the United States Army Military Intelligence as an electronic warfare intercept tactical warfare specialist. Following his military service, he attended Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas, where he studied political science and government.
After school he went on to work in Texas and U.S. politics for more than 15 years, serving as a senior staff member to Texas State Representative Scott Hochberg and Texas State Senator Rodney Ellis. He also served under the administration of President Barack Obama for nine years in roles that included director of operations for the United States Department of Energy; deputy director of advance in for the United States Environmental Protection Agency; and lead advance associate in the Executive Office of the President at the White House, where he was responsible for logistics for White House local, domestic and international travel. He also worked as advance team lead in the Obama For America campaign, which involved planning and coordinating then-candidate Obama’s American travel logistics.
