Shawn Green’s professional career is one to be admired as he continues to ascend the corporate ladder in the oil and gas industry. He is well-known as an accomplished, results-driven leader with well-rounded and diverse experiences. Shawn currently serves as manager of Global Services, Systems and Technology for ConocoPhillips. He is accountable for providing overall leadership for supply chain strategy, with an emphasis on elevating the function’s use of automation and emerging technology on a global scale to support procurement of $10 billion spent annually for ConocoPhillips. His organization is also accountable for defining, implementing, and managing a global vision for system solutions to enable a world-class supply chain. 

Shawn has held several positions of increasing responsibility while working at ConocoPhillips. He served as director of Global Shared Services, director of Transactional Excellence Lower 48 Region, and manager of Requisition to Pay Project Implementation, Lower 48 Region. Shawn also accepted the opportunity to work abroad where he was promoted to supply chain manager for the Western Canada Region. He also held assignments in strategic sourcing, business development, technology commercialization, and strategic planning including supply chain director for the company’s EagleFord shale development.

Before joining ConocoPhillips, Shawn took a slight change in career paths by transitioning into the alternative energy industry. He accepted an opportunity to work for a venture capital firm specializing in funding and supporting small alternative energy and healthcare companies seeking to expand but had limited access to equity markets.

Shawn also held a variety of positions at Marathon and ExxonMobil companies, serving in project procurement management positions, category management, supplier relationship management, process engineering, technology, operations, business management, and strategic planning roles.

Shawn is a native Houstonian and grew up in Trinity Gardens. He actively gives back to the community and is a firm believer in “To whom much is given, much will be required.” He consistently advocates for the advancement of supplier diversity programs, corporate diversity and inclusion initiatives, and mentorship and development of young aspiring professionals. He is also a corporate diversity recruiter.

Although Shawn loves working within the energy industry, he is an accomplished entrepreneur in his own right. He is an experienced realtor and has a passion for assisting and counseling homebuyers in obtaining their dreams of first-time homeownership. He is enthusiastic about real estate investing as well. He has become known as the “Investor Realtor” and has a knack for ‘running the numbers’ to find those hidden gems. He focuses on his clients building their real estate portfolio as well as maintaining his investment portfolio.    

Along with his corporate responsibilities, Shawn serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council and also serves on the Petroleum Industry Data eXchange (PIDX) BoardIn his spare time, Shawn is an avid tennis player and enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also volunteers for many community service organizations including Junior Achievement and United Way where he previously served as Chairman of the Board for Crossroads. He is a proud graduate of Leadership Houston, Class XXX.

Shawn attended Tulane University in New Orleans and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and later received an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Management.
