Jerry Sowells is a certified construction manager with over 20 years of successful construction management leadership experience serving clients in Houston and the surrounding areas. He holds a M.S. in civil engineering and is the president of Sowells Consulting Engineers, LLC and Sowells Engineers & Constructors, LLC. His project experience includes serving as construction services manager at ESPA CORP where he was responsible for leading a team of over 20 professionals that included project managers, engineers, administrators, and civil inspectors.
His leadership experience also includes:
- Assistant construction manager for the City of Houston Surface Water Transmission Program with Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam
- Project engineer for Universal Studio’s Super Hero Island of Adventure Project in Orlando, Florida, with Construct Two Construction Managers, Inc.
- Field engineer for multiple semiconductor and manufacturing design/build projects with Sverdrup Facilities (Jacobs)
Sowells Consulting Engineers (SCE), formallySowells Construction Management & Inspection, LLC (SCMI) was established in 2010 and is a Texas Professional Engineering Firm. SCE, which has developed a core team of professional construction managers, engineers, and inspectors provides the highest quality construction management and inspection services. SCE is administratively certified and pre-certified with the Texas Department of Transportation to provide construction management and inspection for roadways. The company has earned prime contracts with the City of Houston, managing/inspecting the construction of over $1 billion in roadway and utility projects. SCE is a Texas HUB, also a certified MBE, DBE, and SBE with the City of Houston, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Port of Houston Authority, and HISD. Their services include civil engineering, construction/project management, project controls, estimating/scheduling, and site inspection.
