“Some Do, Some Don’t; Some Will, Some Won’t” is the mantra above the main stage at The Greasy Spoon Soulfood Bistro. The Greasy Spoon is the manifestation of a vision cast eight years ago by its owner, Max Bozeman II. The name is fashioned after the concept of coming together, eating good soul food, and leaving nothing on the plate but a greasy spoon and great memories. The Greasy Spoon is now nestled in the heart of Pearland, Texas, with this being its third location.

During its recent Pearland grand opening, Bozeman gave the packed house a glimpse of The Greasy Spoon’s menu and served up some of their signature soul food fare, including chipotle egg rolls, chicken and sausage gumbo, mac and cheese, mustard greens, and smoked oxtails with gravy on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. The opening brought not only soulful cuisine, but a live band and the dynamic musical stylings of Phill Wade, Shawn Sounds, and Aja Dominque to add to the soul-filled experience.  

Max will tell you that he is a businessman by nature who fell in love with the concept of what restaurants provide as far as being in the heart of the community, interacting with people daily, and seeing people come in to enjoy an exceptional dining experience as they celebrate special occasions or are just in the mood to enjoy a good meal with loved ones.

He continues to express his appreciation for the community’s support and how The Greasy Spoon has a special connection with the community, seeing how the spirit of the restaurant makes a positive difference in the lives of others.  As a cancer survivor, Max understands the power of his own personal story and how impactful it is for others to see him thriving to feel empowered in their own lives. Max says his overarching goal is, To make sure that every customer that comes through the doors of The Greasy Spoon is happy that they came, and they can’t wait to come back.”

At the Pearland location, Max’s concept is to create a space and platform for local artists to come and showcase their talent, from live music to poetry and comedy, shining a spotlight on the gold of great talent we have in our own backyard – a value passed down to him at a young age.  

The Greasy Spoon has been featured on many platforms, including receiving national recognition on The Cooking Channel’s Food Paradise.  The Greasy Spoon is known throughout the country and will continue to set the standard for the ultimate dining experience in Soul Food excellence. Make sure you check out The Greasy Spoon Soulfood Bistro, where you will be happy you came and can’t wait to go back!

On Thursday, January 20, 2022, The Greasy Spoon Soulfood Bistro will officially open its doors to the Pearland community.  The new location is at 10009 Broadway St., Pearland, TX, 77584, Suite101 and will operate between the hours of 11AM – 9PM.
