HOUSTON — Members of the Houston media were able to indulge in creative handcrafted cocktails and fun at SoHou, one of the city’s newest and most exciting sports bars, and some delicious gourmet offerings from Lavish Eats HTX!
Located at 1925 Washington Ave., SoHou is a woman-owned sports bar launched by two food and beverage veterans who have created a vibrant, Houston-themed fusion of sports bar excitement and lounge chic designed to make women, men, and everybody in Houston’s diverse and dynamic community feel welcome.
At the heart of SoHou are two passionate and vibrant hospitality veterans, Malak Maroun and Hamera Khan, both deeply connected to the pulse of the community. Maroun, a career bartender, was raised in Houston. Her lifelong dream was to own her own bar and her love for mixology and zest for life shine through in every aspect of SoHou.
“We wanted to create a space where everyone feels like they belong, where laughter echoes off the walls and memories are made,” said Maroun. “SoHou is more than just a bar; it’s a community hub that captures the essence of Houston, where all are welcome and friends come together to celebrate life and all it has to offer.”

Lavish Eats is a brand-new gourmet food truck offering an array of fresh, homemade, high-quality dishes to delight the palate and elevate the senses! Scheduled to open in June, the premium food truck is bringing an innovative twist to “New American” cuisine, blending home cooked Southern and Northeastern flavors with a truly lavish flare.
Lavish Eats HTX is the brainchild of Joli Henderson and Chef Benny, a passionate duo who have turned their lifelong love for cooking and baking into a vibrant food truck experience.
“We feel that some of the best food comes from small cafés and food trucks, but it often lacks presentation,” said Chef Benny, co-owner of Lavish Eats. “We are taking the food truck concept to the next level, marrying a beautiful presentation with exceptional flavor to create something truly Lavish.”
