HOUSTON — Women’s History Month isn’t quite over, and one Houston-area attorney made sure several women from various generations, professions and walks of life received their much-deserved flowers before the month concludes.
Managing Attorney Rodney Jones of Rodney Jones Law Group P.C., along with Lemon-Lime Light Media, hosted a night of celebration and excellence on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Duchess Uptown. Attorney Jones honored 21 women for their hard work, courage, dedication and accomplishments in their fields and in the community.


“It’s important to me to celebrate women year-around, but March is specifically special because it’s Women’s History Month, and Houston has some women who are truly inspiring,” Attorney Jones, who is a repeat Top 50 Black Professionals & Entrepreneurs of Texas Awards honoree, said.
The honorees for this event were as follows:
1. Jacoba Blackmon – Promotions Coordinator for Radio One Houston
2. XANDi – International Recording Artist
3. Candace Ford – Owner of Ladies Love Cigars (wife of TJ Ford)
4. DeRonica Horn- Celebrity Event Coordinator
5. Joy Davenport – Owner of The Davenport Foundation Foster Care Services
6. Charlee King- Helping Mothers with Lactation Issues
7. Taylor Berry – Executive producer at KHOU 11
8. Jessica Rahm – Marketing Director for Drip IV Vitamins
9. Lori Lord – Partner in the Heist Agency/ mastermind for national marketing campaigns
10. Malia Carothers- Producer for Fox 26
11. Natalie Alvarado- Entertainment Director for the Houston Rockets
12. Lawren Lacy – Notable Realtor
13. Rebekah Williams – Community Relations Officer for the Mayor of Houston
14. Sunni Tha Rapper – Recording Artist
15. DJ Supastar – International DJ/Radio Personality
16. Shaquira Martin – Former Reporter/Marketer
17. Rosea Grady – Hospitality Consultant (Trailblazer Award)
18. ALaina Saulsberry – Celebrity Makeup Artist (Trailblazer Award)
19. Tiffany Dyson – Real Estate leader
20. Falyn Nichole – Story of Inspiration
21. Mariella – Owner of Sole Sply
During the event, each lady started the evening off by walking the red carpet for photos and interviews, followed by cocktails on the patio by Roku Gin.

As the mingling took place, honorees had the opportunity to connect with each other and Attorney Jones.
La’Torria Lemon of Lemon-Lime Light Media hosted the dinner and provided each honoree with a plaque. Every honoree had to give their acronym for WOMAN. The ladies enjoyed a three-course meal prepared by Duchess.
“I’m always doing so much for others and I’m rarely celebrated, so tonight was special for me,” said honoree Lori Lord of the Heist Agency.
Although many submissions were received, Attorney Jones and his team selected 21 ladies whose stories were most impactful.
