HOUSTON — Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) is hiring certified teachers for its four special schools, serving students with severe intellectual, academic and behavioral disabilities, those facing addiction and adjudicated/expelled youth.  

Interested applicants can attend job fairs at three locations on Saturday, April 13. During this time, candidates will be able to speak with the principal and staff at the school, tour the new facilities and gain insight into the culture and climate of HCDE.

Teacher compensation packages start at $67,750. Compensation packages for special education teachers at the Department’s Academic and Behavior Schools start at $75,000.
