The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Foundation recently hosted their Inaugural Law Enforcement and Community Champions Awards Gala and Fundraiser. This Black-Tie event highlighted and awarded members of Fort Bend’s Law Enforcement community in the categories of Rookie of the Year, Investigator of the Year, Deputy Dhaliwal Community Relations Officer of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, Medal of Valor, and Officer of the Year.
Additionally, the Foundation recognized and awarded five outstanding community champions who give unselfishly of themselves to better the community.
The five inaugural community champions honored:
- Felicia Jane Thomas, Founder, See you at the Polls
- Vita Goodell, Executive Director, Fort Bend Women’s Center
- Gary Poon, Executive Director, Humane Society
- Irfan Motiwala, Owner, Alings Chinese Bistro
- Jimmy Cantu, Owner, Pier 36 Seafood Restaurant and Oyster Bar
The event was hosted on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Safari Texas Ranch in the Infinity Ballroom in Richmond, Texas. The emcee for the evening was ABC 13’s Pooja Lodhia, with live entertainment from The Joe Carmouche Band.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Foundation invited all businesses, community leaders, and elected officials to support this first-class Inaugural Awards Gala honoring law enforcement and community leaders. They encouraged everyone’s support to achieve their goal to assist the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
The funds raised will be used to purchase equipment, technology, exempt capital purposes, and tools needed for the hard-working men and women of The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, to lessen the burdens of government and develop a more capable Sheriff’s organization.
