Urban One’s KBXX Houston proudly announces that DJ J-Que Joins Good Morning H-Town on 97.9 The Box, marking an exciting new chapter for the award-winning morning show. Beginning Monday, January 26, 2026, J-Que will take the lead chair on Good Morning H-Town, joining legendary co-host JMac and rising star Young Jas.
J-Que’s return to mornings marks his first Morning Drive role since 2017, when he was part of The Madd Hatta Morning Show, prior to teaming with Houston radio icon G-Man on The Afternoon Sauce. In addition to his on-air role, J-Que continues to serve as Assistant Program Director (APD) and Music Director (MD) for 97.9 The Box, further solidifying his leadership within the station.
J-Que is widely recognized for his sharp wit, authentic perspective, and masterful mixing skills. His distinctive delivery and unfiltered take on culture and current
events have earned him a loyal and diverse fan base
across Houston and beyond.

In addition to his role on Good Morning H-Town, he will maintain his signature daily mix shows, holiday mixes,
and specialty programming on 97.9 The Box, showcasing the award-winning DJ skills that have defined his career.
Beyond radio, J-Que has built an impressive résumé as a tastemaker, influencer, and brand partner. His collaborations include major brands such as Apple, Ford, Hulu, Netflix, Branson, CÎROC, Hennessy, New Amsterdam Vodka, Avión Tequila, 1-800-Car-Wreck, Uvalle Law Firm, IJustGotHit.com, and SWAC, among others.
A dominant force in the club and live event scene, J-Que is a sought-after DJ and hosts high-profile parties and
celebrity events nationwide. He has shared stages and collaborated with some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Beyoncé, Diddy, Lil Wayne, Drake, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Jamie Foxx, and Rick Ross.
Specializing in Hip-Hop, R&B, and Electronic Dance Music, J-Que’s versatility and energy have made him a staple in Houston’s nightlife and beyond.
In 2015, J-Que became a member of the legendary DJ collective The Heavy Hitters. He is also signed to 50 Cent’s G-Unit DJ Division as the Houston Ambassador, promoting 50’s champagne and cognac brands, and previously appeared as part of the cast on BET’s 50 Central.
