What is Fresh Start?
Fresh Start is designed to spark a lasting interest in STEM among students from third to 12th grade. Through hands-on, interactive workshops led by over 20 STEM professionals, students will gain valuable insights into the real-world applications of science and technology. Additionally, participants will interact with university students and educators, providing them a glimpse into college life and motivating them to aim higher in their academic pursuits.
The Fresh Start program plays a pivotal role in building a diverse future workforce essential to Houston’s economic growth and innovation. By equipping young minds with the skills and confidence to pursue STEM careers, NSBE Houston Professionals are contributing to a more inclusive and robust talent pipeline. The event also enhances school curricula by providing practical, interactive experiences that are often missing in traditional educational settings.
