HOUSTON — March is a notable month for women empowerment and the acknowledgement of all the queens who continue to break barriers across the world while making it a better place.
In honor of International Women’s Month, She Makes We is presenting the “Power of Vision: Moving the Culture Forward” celebration on March 9, 2024 at Fig & Olive Galleria from 12-4 p.m.
The series stands as a dynamic collection of events, each crafted to equip women with essential tools for success. These events feature captivating speakers, valuable resources, and insightful information, all thoughtfully curated to inspire and guide. Our focus this year is on celebrating women’s achievements and fostering an environment of growth and inspiration.
The event will highlight “Women that are moving the culture,” in their respective industries. This year’s award recipients are:
- Entrepreneur of the Year – “Visionary Vanguard of the Year”
- Andera Everline, Founder of R3 Fuel Gym/ Fitness Center – Andera, a local gym owner uses a faith-based approach to training. Andrea also uses her free time to mentor young girls in partnership with SHEISACEO. The She Is A CEO Foundation is a 501 c(3) non-profit organization was founded to encourage entrepreneurship, build self-esteem, independence, and the love of charity among young girls and women. Through its programs, the foundation strives to create entrepreneurs one little girl at a time and support other organizations that educate and enrich the lives of girls.
- Women’s Advocate of the Year – “Lens Leader for Women’s Empowerment”
- Vanessa Agudelo, Founder of Houston Business Women – Vanessa started an organization for business women in Houston and for women to showcase their talent and support other women owned business owners. The organization is a paid membership platform with 250+ paid members and 20k+ followers across Instagram and Facebook. The organization also hosts monthly givebacks initiatives and ad hoc support during critical weather storms in the Houston area.
- Philanthropist of the Year – “Sightsetter of Altruism Award”
- Seante Johnson, Owner of Birthday Bash Box
- Empowerment Champion Award – “Visionary Leader in Cultural Empowerment”
- Charlye Lynne Egbo, Serial Entrepreneur, managing organizations such as The Blowup Bar, LLC, Koya Restaurant and more.
Each award recipient will be honored with a congressional proclamation from Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee, adding prestige to the accolade.
