Bun B’s New Restaurant Will Be The First Of Its Kind In Houston
Houston born and bred rapper Bun B is about to “open up shop” with a location for his Trill Burgers eatery.
According to Revolt, it was announced that he secured a location in the Montrose area just minutes away from Midtown.
The building previously housed fast food chain James Coney Island which specialized in gourmet hot dogs.
“It’s been a long time coming, not just for us, but for anybody that’s had a Trill Burger or wanted a Trill Burger and couldn’t get one.”
Bun B
“We’ve been working hard to find the right location to make it as easily accessible to as many people as possible. I think we found that location, and we can’t wait to open these doors to the city of Houston and eventually the world.”

Bun B, born James Freeman, initially saw his business venture take flight during the CultureMap Tastemaker Awards alongside chefs Fernando Valladares and Mike Pham.
His business partner, Andy Ngyuen and publicist Nick Scurfield round out the team. After the veteran rapper got inspired from a food truck he visited, the fusion between Bun B’s vision and Ngyuen’s experience in retail and marketing made a lane Trill Burger’s success.
“Now it’s more than just a meal. Now it’s an experience. For some people, it becomes very surreal. ‘I went to the festival to get Bun B’s burger, and Bun B was there at Trill Burgers and gave me my burger.’ It makes for a more immersive, deeper connection with people I already have a connection with.”

Ngyuen, the founder of companies such as Afters Ice Cream, Arrow and other California inspired businesses, says Bun B’s love for food makes him a good candidate for the market,
“[Bun B] loves the food industry. He’s like, he’s been a foodie himself and now it’s his chance to get on my side of the stage.”

For all of the Houstonians, Trill Burgers brick and mortar will open its doors in 2023. The location’s address will be 3607 S Shepherd Drive, Houston, TX 77098.
